Top 5 Internet Marketing Secrets Revealed?

After tons of research and buying and testing the various "Internet Marketing Strategies" I've come to a few conclusions about the whole internet marketing thing. It would seem that there are a number of myths that I've discovered about this process;

Secret #1 "Affiliate marketing is easy! You'll be making money within 15 minutes".

It is NOT easy, and it could take you a fair bit longer than 15 minutes to make any money. You'll read a lot of stuff from people telling you that making money on the internet is very easy, so that you'll buy whatever it is that they're selling. Many internet gurus will tell you that it's real easy, and it's just not. It takes a ton of work, and many, many hours on the computer. I make decent money, I'm not in the six figures, but I stuck to it, and it's worked out so far, but it's taken a lot longer than 15 minutes...

When was the last time that you read that the money that you make (if you make any at all) on the internet will be piddly at it's absolute best in the beginning? My first check was for $6.48, but that $6.48 told me that there was more to be made. So like I said before, I stuck with it.

Secret #2 "Discover the secrets of..."

There are so many ebooks out there that promise to "give you the secrets" of everything from how to make money blogging to how to get Google to make money for you. Here's the scoop; If Internet Guru dude gave all of us his "secrets", what would be left for him? I'm not saying that he should give us his secrets, I am saying that he shouldn't say that he's giving away those secrets, only to water them down with regurgitated, inflated nonsense.

Secret #3 "Drive tons of free traffic..."

Where to start with this one?

Anytime someone offers to "drive free traffic to your site", run far, and run fast in the opposite direction. Generally, that "free traffic" is highly untargeted traffic. It's not the kind of traffic that you're looking for if you're going to make any money doing this at all. There's no such thing as "free targeted traffic". Nothing is free. Everything costs something. Remember that.

Secret #4: "Subscribe to our newsletter for inside information..."

...and we'll harass you via email 'til you want to slit your wrists.

I recently signed up for a particular internet guru's newsletter. Should I tell you how many emails I got from him (or his system) in the 7 days following my sign up? Eleven. I got 11 emails from this person (or his damned system) in the seven days following my signing up for his newsletter. And all 11 emails had one subject; one goal in mind; to sell me his latest program.

Now, if I signed up for his newsletter in the first place, wouldn't common sense say that I already know about his program? I have since un-subscribed from his newsletter. No more emails. (I should say that they're not ALL that way, but there are a few...)

There used to be newsletter sign up boxes on my sites. They're gone now. Those blasted things are all over the internet, and I've grown tired of them. If you want to read my rantings on a semi-regular basis, you can read them in my blog. I'm not going to come after you for your contact info, and I'm not putting those damned sign up boxes back up.

Secret #5: "Gigantic red lettering...

...at the top of a web page means that I'm about to witness something wonderful!"

It is actually the sign that you're about to be "pitched" and in great, painfully predictable detail. When I see the giant red lettering at the top of a web page, I click away as quickly as I got there. I'm sure that many of you do too. There's got to be a better way than that blasted enormous red hey-stay-there-while-we-pitch-you-with-our-60-page-"big-top"-program-monologue lettering.

It is entirely possible to make very good money on the internet. I'm living proof (and there are others) that it does and can happen. There are a few great programs out there, but you have to be very careful (read the fine print) when choosing which you want to represent. In my opinion, there are only a handful (maybe 4 or 5) of truly ingenious people out there when it comes to internet marketing. I'm sure that they know who they are...

Customer Review: The Riverboat Gambler

'Favre 4 Ever' is a great look at one of the most storied quarterbacks in NFL history, Brett Favre. Examining his career from the start up until the 2006 season, it seems like a version 2.0 of this DVD will be required to show him breaking the all-time passing yards and touchdowns records, along with his incredible MVP-type 2007 season. If you are a Brett Favre and/or Packers fan and enjoy watching NFL documentaries, you will no doubt enjoy this solid release!!

**** RECOMMENDED

Customer Review: It Ain't Over Yet!

This documentary covers the life of Brett Favre from elementary school up to the 2004/2005 season. This entire DVD is pre-Mike McCarthy. Therefore, it feels a little incomplete when it ends. Especially considering Favre's amazing 2007/2008 season. That being said, it's still a great DVD of Favre's life and reveals some facts that even the most die hard Favre fan is probably unaware. Touching, funny, and exhilerating, the DVD paints a perfect picture of both Favre's highs and lows.

Once Upon a Time in China 5

Once Upon a Time in China 5
Customer Review: A new spin on Wong Fei-Hung

Director and OUATIC series creator Tsui Hark bravely puts a new twist on the legend of Wong Fei-Hung in this fifth chapter in the series. As emphasised by other reviewers here, firearms are fairly prevelant in this episode; although they complement rather than overshadow the martial-arts action. Personally, to see WFH dodging bullets while kicking heads made for lively viewing in my opinion.
Man Cheuk Chui plays Wong Fei-Hung pretty well, but in the acting/charisma stakes, he's obviously no Jet Li. Where he does shine is in the well choreographed action scenes. Spinning and kicking for all his worth, here he does give Jet a run for his money! In fact all of Wong's sidekicks are given space to show off their martial moves, with Clubfoot in particular displaying some powerful kicking.
In conclusion, while it doesn't reach the epic heights of the earlier Jet Li chapters, OUATIC 5 is a well-paced kung-fu movie that provides action, comedy and drama in equal measure.

Customer Review: Weak film, one great fight scene

What's wrong with this movie? Hmm, where to begin... how about the fact that the main weapon of choice in the film is guns. That's right I said guns. Wong Fei Hung, Clubfoot and crew jump around performing martial arts and then shooting people dead. It makes no sense whatsoever and is totally out of character for Fei Hung who, in one scene, shoots a woman in the eye and kills her. Then there's the fact that the movie drags on and on with TERRIBLE comedy scenes that make you wish someone would shoot you in the eye and end the misery. The only thing saving this film from a one star rating is one AWESOME figth scene where Wong Fei Hung battles an ancient kung fu master in a massive treasure chamber. Very cool but definely not worth the purchase price.

Have had this for a while now and never get tired of listening to it. Great selection for all country fans.

This was for my husband, and he didn't care for it. I am not a huge country fan, but I tolerate it, and this was barely tolerable.

X-box 360 Backpack By Planet 21

X-box 360 Backpack By Planet 21
The Xbox 360 Backpack is designed to carry and protect the Xbox 360 Console.PRODUCT FEATURES:Removable padded Xbox 360 Console Sleeve with carry handle;Compartments to house Xbox 360 controllers, hard drive, power pack and cables;Internal Back Pack light.

Customer Review: Nice Bag

I bought this backpack recently, and it suits my needs. It is big enough to carry 4 controllers, 360 console, all wires, and if you put your games in some sort of sleeve, it will fit. Overall the appearance is decent, although i did wish that they had an actual pocket for putting controllers, i had to place 3 in the outer most pocket, and 1 in the main pocket, which im sure is an improvisation.

Customer Review: Xbox (360) Backpack

This backpack is a very well made convieniance. It holds the original xbox and the 360 (with a seprate paded case for the 360 consol) - its made very durable, and holds controllers and games, along with the cords and gizmos you may need for excellent gameplay.

Chinese Ghost Story II

Chinese Ghost Story II
Customer Review: Really Fun

I first saw this movie in an art house eons ago. I thought it was terrific then. I recently bought it to share with my friends. They need to be prepared that it is not American and to approach it with a sense of humor. They need to be prepped about the symbolism of the ghosts being athletic instead of "magic". This is a fun movie.

Customer Review: 100 years later...

After being disappointed by part 2, I was very happy to see Joey Wong return as a ghost in part 3. I don't know what they were thinking with part 2 but part 3 is the sequel I was looking for. Once again her job as a ghost is to seduce men so that her evil master can eat their spirits.

Tong Leung (from Hard Boiled) plays a Buddhist monk who is on a journey with his master to deliver a golden Buddha. They get attacked by Joey Wong's evil master and Joey Wong tries to save Tony Leung from the demon. Even though Tony is a Buddhist he can't hide his love for the ghost.

Jacky Cheung makes a welcome return after starring in part 2, and he helps Tony Leung retrieve his golden Buddha after it was stolen. Tony Leung's master has been captured by the demon and Tony is supposed to repair the Golden Buddha and then come back to save his master. Instead he gets it stolen and it ends up getting melted into a blob instead of a Buddha. He doesn't know if the Buddha will still have its magical powers but he has to go and save his master. Luckily Jacky Cheung comes along to help him for a very exciting ending.

The relationship between Tony Leung and Joey wong is just as beautiful as the relationship that Joey Wong had with Leslie Cheung. There is a lot more comedy than parts 1 and 2 and also a lot of great one-liners. The biggest difference is that this movie is just completely insane. Tongues go into peoples stomachs, the evil demon is some sort of crazy tree monster, and there are some epic magic battles. Fun doesn't even begin to describe it. This is my favorite movie in the 3 part series.
